Phil originally comes from County Durham. He started learning piano aged six, followed by violin and later church organ. After school, he continued studying organ and piano at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and graduated with a BA in Music Performance from Glasgow University.
Phil is currently co-writing a new musical version of Sleeping Beauty, which will receive its premier at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage, over Easter 2018. He has also co-written musical versions of Rapunzel The Musical (Gordon Craig and UK tour) and Alice In Wonderland (Gordon Craig).

Beyond this, Phil has played keyboards for Sir Cliff Richard since 2006. He has also worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Showbiz Pops Orchestra and Ronnie Corbett, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Jaki Graham, James Ingram, Elaine Paige, Freda Payne, Percy Sledge, Marti Webb, Toyah Wilcox, Dave Willetts, Gary Wilmot and others. He has written music for TV, theatre, musicals and has programmed keyboards for many of the above shows.
